Abdus Satter
Born in 1948
Satter’s academic career is embellished by an MFA from Pratt Institute, New York and post-graduate study at Vishwa Bharati, Shantiniketan.
He has had 18 solo exhibitions in Dhaka, Chittagong and New York. He got exposure in numerous countries including Japan, Yugoslavia, Poland, Germany, UAE, Canada, Egypt, Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands. His achievements earned him international awards at the Portland Art Museum International Prints Exhibition ( 1997), the First International Triennial for Prints (1993) in Egypt, the International Biennial of Graphic Art in Yugoslavia (1981, 1985 and 1989), the First Art Biennial in Pakistan (1981) and the Asian Art Biennial (1981). At home he received honorable mention in 1994 and 1992, Best Award for Print in 1981and 1976 and Gold Medal in 1980. Satter’s works can be seen at the Portland Art Museum, USA, the Museum of Auborn University, Albama, USA, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Yugoslavia, Museum of Contemporary Graphic Prints, Egypt, National Art Gallery, Malaysia, Muse d’Art Contemporaine, Yugoslavia, Shahid Smity Sangrahashala, Rajshahi University, the National Art Gallery, Dhaka and the National Museum of Fine Arts, Dhaka.
